If you
haven’t seen the latest series of ads of the Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare
Commercials…they are outstanding! This is one of the best advertising campaigns
I’ve seen in 35 years.

When a
commercial can make you cry and immediately evoke a feeling, or in this case a tumbling range of feelings, from cute, warm and fuzzy, to sadness, happiness and then
pride in the human race----without saying anything about the companies
services--- and still make such a huge, immediate impact on the viewers
impression of the company...that’s genius.
They simply use the copy "Amazing Things Happen When People Work
Together." It also uses what looks like low resolution home/phone
videos of special events caught by chance from an audience member which lends a
feeling of ‘real life’ moments, deepening the sensations already felt. In other
words these commercials connect with the viewer on a deeply personal level,
just like your healthcare should. Kudos to Hill Holiday !! I haven’t been this moved by a commercial since
the Kodak commercial from the 1960s, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBWVWjdNWC0 granted, I was just a child, but that commercial was also so powerful that I still
remember it vividly and made the connection immediately between the two
campaigns.
